Smoking Cessation

Overview

Our pharmacists are trained to provide a smoking cessation service to help patients stop smoking. The supply of a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) medicine may be subject to criteria or from a voucher issued by your GP. The patient will regularly see the pharmacist to discuss how they are getting on and to ensure the medication given to help the patient quit smoking is the most appropriate option, or is a dose reduction is needed for example.

Benefits

An appointment for ongoing support and advice may not be needed and the pharmacist can issue further supplies of any NRT medicines at the same time.

Accessing this service

The patient only needs to make contact with the pharmacy. No need to visit their GP.
