Disposal of Unwanted Medicines

Overview

We act as a disposal point for any unwanted medicines patients may have at home. Unwanted medicines could include medicines you been prescribed but have stopped, or medicines that are out of date. All medicines can be returned to your pharmacy, this includes inhalers and ampoules. We will safely dispose of the medicines in special containers.

Benefits

This service reduces the lots of unwanted medicines being stored in people’s homes and therefore reducing the risk of accidental poisonings in the home, or medicines being taken by people not authorised to possess them. The special way the medicines are destroyed reduces possible environmental damage.
