Diabetes Testing

Overview

Some patients may not realise that they have raised blood sugar and are at risk of developing diabetes, A blood glucose check will allow patients the opportunity to safely and reliability check their risk for diabetes. The test is carried out using blood from a finger prick. The test results will be interpreted and advise given to the patient regarding any action that needs to be taken. This service will be carried out in the private consultation room.

Benefits

The test is free and although an appointment does not need to be made, the test is best carried out on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. Therefore many patients may find it easier to visit their pharmacy for this test rather than visit their GPs.
